Terms of Service
Last updated October 19, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and John Barbagiannis, doing business as ChitChat (“ChitChat”, “we”). ChitChat is an online dating service for adults 18 and older who want to meet people for a relationship or casual dating. By creating an account you agree to these terms.
1. Who can use ChitChat
ChitChat is offered only to people located in the United States. You must be at least 18 years old, able to form a binding contract, and not barred from using the service by law. You must verify your email. Your profile is shown to other members, and you can wink or message, only after you pass our photo ID + selfie check. You may have only one account.
2. Your account
Keep your password private. You're responsible for activity on your account. Tell us right away at chitchatapp.payment@gmail.com if you think someone else has accessed it.
3. Your content and conduct
You keep ownership of what you post, and you give us a license to host and show it on ChitChat so the service works. You agree to follow our Community Guidelines & Acceptable Use Policy. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break them.
3a. Prohibited conduct
You may not use ChitChat to, or to help anyone else to:
- engage in, facilitate or promote human trafficking, sex trafficking, forced labor, or any sexual exploitation, including of minors;
- buy, sell, solicit or advertise sex, prostitution, escort or other commercial sexual services;
- abuse, harass, threaten, stalk, blackmail, extort or harm anyone, or aid, abet or encourage abuse of any kind;
- post nudity, sexually explicit content, or any content involving minors;
- ask for or send money, run scams, impersonate others or create fake accounts;
- break any law.
We remove accounts that do these things immediately and permanently, without refund, and we report illegal activity to law enforcement (see our Law Enforcement Guidelines).
4. Safety
ChitChat does not conduct criminal background checks on its members. We verify emails and, for members who message, photo IDs, but we can't guarantee how members behave. See our safety tips. You're responsible for your interactions with other members, online and in person.
5. Paid plans
Premium and Gold renew monthly through Stripe, our payment processor, at the price shown when you subscribe until you cancel. You can cancel anytime in the Me tab and keep your plan until the end of the period you've paid for. The ID verification fee is non-refundable and covers one attempt; each new attempt after a failed check is charged separately. Full details are in our Refund & Cancellation Policy. We may change prices with notice before your next renewal.
6. Ending your account
You can delete your account anytime in the Me tab. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or the guidelines, or to protect members.
7. Disclaimers and limits
ChitChat is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the past 12 months.
8. Disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA. If you have a problem, please contact us first at chitchatapp.payment@gmail.com so we can try to fix it. Any dispute that can't be resolved informally will be handled in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. If the changes are significant we'll tell you in the app before they take effect.
